This year, 35 incredible runners took on the TCS Sydney Marathon as part of Team SACH, coming together to run for a cause that is changing the lives of children around the world.
Supported by the Waislitz Foundation, Team SACH runners laced up their shoes and took on the ultimate physical challenge to raise vital funds for Save a Child’s Heart (SACH), helping provide life-saving cardiac care to children from developing countries.
Together, the team raised an extraordinary more than $120,000, an incredible achievement that reflects the determination, generosity and commitment of every runner, supporter and donor who got behind the team.
From first-time marathoners to experienced runners, each member of Team SACH brought their own story and motivation to the course. Across 42 kilometers, they ran not only for themselves, but for children who are waiting for the chance to receive the heart surgery and care they desperately need.
A special congratulations goes to Jo Star, CEO of Save a Child’s Heart Australia, who played a huge role in bringing Team SACH together and building the energy around the campaign. Through her weekly updates, encouragement and fundraising pushes, Jo kept the excitement and momentum going throughout the lead-up to race day, inspiring the team and helping drive an outstanding fundraising result.

And in an achievement of her own, Jo completed her very first marathon, making her contribution to this year’s Team SACH effort even more special. Congratulations, Jo!
The Waislitz Foundation is proud to have supported Team SACH and to have been part of an initiative that turned kilometers into life-changing impact.
